Growing Up

Discovering Forever 21, originally uploaded by rockandcookies.

Sorry for the crap photo, I snapped it quickly with my cell phone.

Lo was trying on the biggest sizes at the Kids’ clothing stores, so we decided to explore other options. We went to American Eagle and she discovered that the 12 and 13 year olds shopping in there were not much larger than she is. She can wear small and X-small clothes from real stores. This led us to Forever 21 (where I got this photo). She had seen an advertisement for it earlier and was excited to find the store. She got right to shopping and ended up with a couple of little hippie (Daniel said “DREAM CATCHER!”) dresses and an owl bag.

I’m not completely sure how I feel about the idea of Lo being big enough to skip kid stores. I remember just the other day (not really… just seems like it) when she was waiting to be able to get to size 8 so she could shop at Limited Too, and now she can shop EVERYWHERE and soon it’ll be pimples and braces and everything that goes with growing up, probably including a shoe obsession, which is fine as long as we end up wearing the same size.
